About the Team
You’ll be joining a Data Engineering team dedicated to building a world-class data platform that centralises and unlocks the full potential of data across the business. The team manages data from both in-house products and third-party services, ensuring it’s reliable, scalable, and ready to power next-generation analytics and machine learning initiatives.
  
What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using AWS Glue and Airflow.
• Build secure and efficient data systems on AWS, leveraging Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Transform and model data in Redshift using dbt, enabling high-quality analytics and insights.
• Optimise pipelines for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability, ensuring observability with monitoring and alerting systems.
• Implement data governance practices including lineage, classification, access control, and compliance (e.g., GDPR).
• Develop and optimise real-time data pipelines (PySpark, Glue Spark, Kinesis) with Change Data Capture (CDC).
• Contribute to peer code reviews, maintain documentation, and ensure best practices are followed.

What We’re Looking For

• Hands-on experience in data engineering, with expertise in ETL, data modelling, and real-time pipelines.
• Strong skills in SQL, Python, or PySpark, with experience across AWS services such as Glue, Redshift, Kinesis, Lambda, S3, and DMS.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow), version control (e.g., GitHub), and big data technologies (e.g., Spark or Hadoop).
• Experience designing and implementing modern cloud-based data platforms using IaC tools like Terraform.
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Bonus Points:

• Exposure to DataOps principles, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their application in data engineering.
• AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Data Analytics) or similar.
