Our client is a lean, fast-moving startup backed by respected founders and investors in the Bay Area.
 
Their mission? Build an AI-powered productivity tool that transforms how businesses use Google Drive.
 
They're focusing hard on rapid shipping, user feedback loops, and finding product-market fit.
 
You’ll join a tight-knit global team based in San Francisco, London and Auckland, This role provides the opportunity to travel a few times a year to San Francisco.
 
 
The Role
 
We’re looking for a high-output, production-proven Full Stack Developer to work in close tandem with their UK AI Engineer who has a heavy Research background,think of it like the fast-bowler partnership of engineering.
 
This is not a cushy “maintenance” gig. You’ll be shipping features from end to end, including:

• Backend architecture (Python, LLM integration)
• Frontend development (Node.js or Next.js)
• Testing, dev ops, deployment
• Working closely with a junior dev and a highly capable AI engineer

You’ll be part of a high-intensity, feedback-rich environment where:

• Features ship weekly (or faster)
• Expectations are high but clear
• Execution matters more than pedigree
• AI isn’t just part of the stack,it’s in the workflow

�� What We’re Looking For

• 3–6 years of hands-on full stack experience
• Python fluency for backend (especially in production environments)
• Strong experience with JavaScript frameworks (Next.js or Node.js preferred)
• Experience shipping to production, ideally in a fast-paced or startup environment
• Ability to work end-to-end: backend, frontend, dev testing, deployment
• Comfortable with pressure, pace, and ambiguity
• Enthusiastic user of AI tools (expect to be asked about this in interviews)
• Based in Auckland and willing to be in-office 3+ days per week

Bonus if you:

• Have worked closely with AI models or tools
• Can support a junior dev and lift team capability
• Have startup, founder, or early-stage experience

The Interview Process

1. Initial chat – focused on motivation, mindset, and adaptability.
2. Technical interview – real-world coding focus, not theory.
3. Interview with Technical Advisor – LeetCode easy level questions to ensure baseline competence in data structures and algorithms.
