An established critical infrastructure operator is seeking an Operational Technology Security Engineer to support the protection and resilience of industrial and operational environments across multiple national sites.
This role sits at the intersection of cyber security, engineering and industrial operations and will suit someone who understands the realities of securing live operational environments without disrupting availability or safety.
You will work closely with infrastructure, networking, engineering and cyber teams to improve visibility, segmentation, monitoring and resilience across OT and ICS environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support cyber security uplift across OT and industrial control system environments
• Assist with network segmentation, monitoring and secure remote access initiatives
• Improve visibility across OT assets, vulnerabilities and operational risks
• Work with engineering and operations teams to strengthen cyber resilience
• Assist with incident response and recovery planning for OT environments
• Contribute to governance activities aligned to critical infrastructure obligations
• Support vendor assessments and third-party risk reviews
• Provide input into secure architecture and operational technology standards

Ideal Background

• Experience within OT, ICS or industrial cyber security environments
• Exposure to sectors such as utilities, energy, transport, mining or data centres
• Understanding of SCADA, PLCs, industrial networking and operational environments
• Knowledge of IEC 62443, NIST CSF or related OT security frameworks
• Experience with firewalls, segmentation and OT monitoring platforms
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across engineering and operational teams
• Ability to balance cyber security requirements with operational continuity
