A highly secure and rapidly growing Australian technology environment is seeking a Senior IT Security Advisor to help drive cyber governance, security uplift and regulatory alignment across critical infrastructure and sovereign cloud platforms.

This organisation operates within highly regulated environments supporting government and nationally significant workloads. The role will suit someone who enjoys balancing technical cyber security knowledge with pragmatic risk, governance and stakeholder engagement.

You will work closely with senior technology leaders, security engineering teams and external assessors to strengthen security posture across cloud, infrastructure and operational environments.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead cyber security advisory activities across cloud and infrastructure platforms
• Drive alignment to ISM, PSPF/DSPF and broader government security frameworks
• Support IRAP assessment readiness and remediation activities
• Provide guidance across Essential Eight maturity uplift initiatives
• Partner with engineering and operations teams on secure architecture and risk reduction
• Assist with DISP-related security obligations and governance activities
• Contribute to SOCI compliance and broader critical infrastructure resilience programs
• Provide executive-level reporting, risk analysis and security recommendations

Ideal Background

• Strong experience within cyber security advisory, GRC or security architecture roles
• Deep knowledge of ISM and government security environments
• Exposure to DSPF/PSPF and IRAP assessment processes
• Experience within sovereign cloud, defence, government or critical infrastructure sectors
• Understanding of SOCI obligations and security uplift programs
• Knowledge of DISP highly regarded
• Strong communication skills with ability to influence both technical and executive stakeholders
