Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced
Procurement Manager to lead our procurement function, ensuring effective sourcing strategies, vendor management, and cost efficiency across all projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with project delivery teams, ensuring materials and services are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with company standards. This role also includes a strong leadership component, with responsibilities for mentoring and coaching team members.
Key Responsibilities: - Negotiate contracts with suppliers/vendors to secure advantageous terms.
- Develop and implement cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Source and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate cost allocation.
- Conduct regular audits and manage supplier pre-qualification processes.
- Oversee material flow to ensure timely delivery to workshops and sites.
- Establish and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and procurement terms.
- Perform risk assessments on contracts and manage the procurement budget.
- Implement and monitor procurement KPIs and reporting systems.
People Management:
- Role model company values to foster a respectful and inclusive culture.
- Mentor and coach team members to achieve high performance.
- Conduct annual appraisals and provide input on training and development plans.
- Promote effective communication and engagement within the team.
Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS):
- Ensure compliance with safety management systems in supplier engagements.
- Promote a strong safety mindset across the supply chain.
Quality:
- Lead compliance with quality standards and processes.
- Support quality investigations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Reporting:
- Provide reports on procurement strategies, cost optimization, and vendor performance.
- Track and report procurement costs by contract.
- Prepare bi-annual business reports on vendor value and cost savings achieved.
Facilities and Tender Support:
- Manage suppliers of consumables and facilities services.
- Provide cost and lead time data for estimating and tendering processes.
Systems and Technology:
- Champion innovation and digitization in procurement processes.
- Ensure efficient and consistent project delivery through system utilization.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
Essential: - Degree in Procurement/Supply Chain, Quantity Surveying, or Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in a Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager role.
- Proficiency in contract preparation, cost control, and reporting.
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
- Experience in construction and materials procurement within process mechanical disciplines.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and MRP systems.
Desirable: - Experience establishing Managed Service Agreements.
- Knowledge of process piping, fittings, and in-line components.
- Familiarity with FileMaker applications and Power BI.
