Role Purpose: We are seeking a passionate
Social Impact Manager (SIM) to join our Building North Division. This role is essential for coordinating and delivering project-specific social impact outcomes across multiple projects, including employment & skills programs, educational initiatives with schools and universities, and collaborations with third-sector organizations.
The position requires regular travel between projects and occasional attendance at events outside regular working hours.
Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with other departments to recruit and train apprentices and new talent.
- Provide pastoral care to apprentices and trainees.
- Champion and coordinate Fairness, Inclusion, and Respect practices on projects.
- Assist with site-specific health and wellbeing activities.
- Liaise with internal departments (Marketing, SHE, IT, HR) to align with business needs.
Technical Duties: - Coordinate and deliver project-based social impact commitments across multiple sites.
- Work collaboratively with clients to exceed community engagement expectations.
- Develop and implement best practices by engaging with external organizations.
- Showcase activities through case studies and success stories.
- Monitor and report on KPIs and project-specific social impact outcomes.
- Maintain robust reporting systems and prepare reports for management and clients.
Employment, Skills, and Social Impact Targets: - Engage with local schools, colleges, universities, and employability organizations.
- Collaborate with local charities and groups to create meaningful social benefits.
- Work with supply chains to contribute to targets and activities.
- Prepare and present data to prove outcomes.
Tenders and Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS): - Provide responses to PQQs and tender questions related to social impact.
- Attend tender interviews and start-up meetings as required.
- Align targets with client requirements and national standards (e.g., National TOMs, CITB National Skills Academy).
- Offer advice to site management on CCS-related activities and attend audits as needed.
Essential Skills and Experience: - Proven knowledge of social value/impact and best practice solutions.
- Experience managing multiple workloads and resources to meet deadlines.
- Client-focused experience with the ability to establish and report on KPIs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
- A valid, clean driving license.
- Team player with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and partners.
Desirable Skills: - Experience delivering social impact in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of recruitment/training environments.
- Familiarity with the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
- A third-level qualification or equivalent experience.
