The role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to work with our Practice Governance team as the Practice Quality Assurance Coordinator - Registered Nurse on a permanent full time basis.
This role will support best practice, risk management, and quality care across Aged Care, Disability (NDIS), and Family and Domestic Violence services.
Key Duties:
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Support client risk management, incident reporting, and safeguarding initiatives.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and report systemic trends to improve service delivery.
- Provide expert guidance and training to teams on clinical governance and quality assurance.
Skills and Experience: - Experience within a clinical or practice setting within the Health, Ageing, Disability or Community Sector.
- Demonstrated capacity to scrutinise and interpret client records, plans and documentation and undertake relevant auditing, gap analysis and provide findings and recommendations – individually and systemically
- Experience in a health liaison role and effectively supporting, resourcing and training non-clinical staff.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills within a systems thinking/process driven approach to solving complex issues.
- Prior knowledge of legislative and regulatory environments including compliance and quality standards preferably within a community and/or health setting.
- Proven record in using skills across a complex organisation, developing professional relationships with stakeholders at various levels of the organisation and managing and influencing through a strong evidence-base.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
Essential requirements for the role: - Minimum Bachelor Degree in Nursing and 3+ years of relevant clinical experience.
- Registration with APHRA and possession of a current practising certificate – Registered Nurse.
- Proven experience within a clinical or practice setting within the Health, Ageing, Disability or Community Sector.
- Current QLD Open Driver’s Licence.
- Current QLD Working with Children Check – ‘Blue Card’ and NDIS worker screening clearance (or eligibility for).
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module - Quality, Safety and You
- Evidence of Australian Work Rights to confirm citizenship or a visa holder (provide evidence at interview).
- Current (no less than 3 months) Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check; and a signed statutory declaration stating you have no criminal offences (Australia and overseas).
