Centacare is seeking to appoint a fulltime Governance and Compliance Manager to work within the Quality, Risk & Governance Unit (QRGU).
As the Governance and Compliance Manager, you will lead and mentor a dedicated team to ensure our policies, procedures, and operations align with legislative and regulatory requirements.
The role:
This role is responsible for ensuring compliance obligations are met, coordinating external audits, and collaborating with stakeholders across Aged Care, Disability, and Family and Domestic Violence services. A key focus is understanding the needs of various teams and developing clear, accessible governance documents that support compliance while catering to diverse stakeholders, including frontline staff, management, and external regulators.
We are looking for a leader with a strong understanding of compliance frameworks and experience working in the community services or relevant sector.
Key Duties:
- Apply a practice governance framework to improve service delivery which is aligned with legislation, regulations, standards, contractual and compliance requirements.
- Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of best practice policies, procedures and processes across a complex and diverse range of programs and services relating to quality client care.
- Ensure coordination of privacy and data incidents, management of Centacare Services subpoenas and requests for information.
- Identify and report governance and compliance concerns for each service stream in consultation with the Head of Practice Governance.
- Analyse findings and data from internal and external audits, make recommendations and formulate improvement plans in close consultation with key stakeholders.
- Work closely with senior operational staff within the QRGU to ensure high quality client care in service delivery in all programs.
- Undertake all formal reporting requirements relevant to the responsibilities of the role, as required by the Head of Practice Governance.
- Provide contemporary supervision to all direct reports in the portfolio including supportive and timely strategies to enhance performance.
Skills and Experience: - High level understanding, familiarity and experience in the application of quality frameworks and standards including any of the following: HSQF, NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and the Aged Care Quality Framework.
- Proven experience and knowledge of managing quality and policy methodology and frameworks across highly complex and diverse programs optimising client outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in managing scheduled and unscheduled external audits, specifically in Aged Care and/or Disability contexts.
- Superior analytical, problem-solving, written, reporting and evaluation knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and sustain influential working relationships with a wide range of informal, internal and external stakeholders including government and statutory bodies.
Essential requirements for the role: - Bachelor’s degree in Law, Health, Community Services or other relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in senior leadership roles in large scale Community Services providers, ideally Disability and/or Aged Care providers
- Significant senior experience in managing practice governance in a diverse and complex regulatory environment.
- Current QLD Open Driver’s Licence.
- Current QLD Working with Children Check – ‘Blue Card’ and NDIS worker screening clearance (or eligibility for).
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module - Quality, Safety and You
- Evidence of Australian Work Rights to confirm citizenship or a visa holder (provide evidence at interview).
- Current (no less than 3 months) Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check; and a signed statutory declaration stating you have no criminal offences (Australia and overseas).
