Location: Hervey Bay & Maryborough – travel between both offices required
Contract: Fixed Term – 12-month contract
Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Start times: Flexible, with commencement before 9:30am required
  
This role provides collaborative case management, crisis intervention, safety planning and support to women and children impacted by domestic and family violence.

Working within a trauma-informed and strengths-based framework, you will support clients to identify their needs, strengthen their safety and wellbeing, and connect with appropriate services and resources. You will work closely with key stakeholders including Queensland Police, Child Safety and DVConnect, particularly when supporting families experiencing complex and high-risk circumstances.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, strengths-based case management and support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence.
• Deliver crisis intervention, risk assessment and safety planning to support client safety and wellbeing.
• Support clients experiencing homelessness or housing instability to access safe and appropriate accommodation.
• Assist clients with Domestic Violence Orders (DVOs) and connect them with appropriate legal and specialist services.
• Work collaboratively with Queensland Police, Child Safety, DVConnect and other key stakeholders.
• Support families experiencing complex needs including domestic violence, mental health, substance use, child protection and housing challenges.
• Participate in High Risk Case Management meetings, Local Level Alliance networks and interagency collaboration.
• Maintain accurate client records and contribute to supervision, professional development, program evaluation and continuous improvement.

 Skills and Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Behavioural Sciences or a related discipline, with eligibility for APS, AASW or equivalent professional membership.
• Demonstrated experience in domestic and family violence practice, including risk assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning and case management.
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act, Child Protection Act and Privacy Act.
• Experience supporting individuals and families experiencing complex and high-risk circumstances.
• Knowledge of housing and homelessness services, particularly within the domestic and family violence sector.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong written, administrative and computer literacy skills, including case notes, reporting and data entry.
• Commitment to child safety, culturally responsive practice and the principles of Catholic Social Teaching.

  Mandatory Requirements

• Current Australian driver's licence.
• Current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or eligibility to obtain.
• Australian working rights.
• Current National Police Check completed in the last 6 months  or willingness to obtain.
• Ability and willingness to travel between the Hervey Bay and Maryborough offices.
• Commitment to meeting all organisational screening, compliance and safeguarding requirements.
