About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Community Support Worker (Housing Officer) to join our Emergency Housing team based in Beaudesert on a part-time (25 hours per week) basis. You will ensure that we deliver a holistic, individualised, and empowering approach to supporting our clients.
  
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough initial assessments for new clients entering the program and develop customised case plans.
• Continuously review and track progress and adapt case plans to align with evolving needs and client goals.
• Provide timely crisis support and referrals for appropriate support services.
• Collaborate with real estate personnel to advocate for client’s housing stability.
• Oversee ten residential properties, including inspections and entry/exit reports.
• Liaise with external agencies including Police, Child Safety, Corrections, Public Guardian, Youth Justice, and schools.
• Ensure coordinated, wraparound support for every client.
• Encourage life skills through chore charts, budgeting sessions, and daily structure.
• Assess when to handle matters internally vs. when to engage specialist services.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualifications in Mental Health, Social Work, or Community Services preferred.
• Previous experience working with people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.
• Demonstrated understanding of the complex needs of marginalised people and the ability to effectively support clients with these needs.
• Proven experience in case management, ideally with vulnerable or high-needs populations.
• Strong crisis management and conflict resolution skills.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care and client-centred practice.
• Familiarity with property management within a social services context is an advantage.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a current driver’s license, blue card, criminal history check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and evidence of rights to work in Australia.
