Join Our Team as a Centre Chef in South Brisbane

Catholic Early EdCare is proud to welcome Mater Early Learning into our community and we are seeking an experienced Centre Chef to bring their passion for nutritious, child-friendly meals to our vibrant, multi-storey Early Learning Service. Located in the heart of South Brisbane, this 19-room centre caters to children from nursery to Kindergarten.

As our Centre Chef, you will play a vital leadership role in our kitchen, designing and delivering wholesome meals that meet diverse dietary needs and promote healthy eating habits. Your creativity, organisation, and care will help shape a positive food culture in our centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks in line with national dietary guidelines.
• Cater for a variety of dietary needs, including allergies, intolerances, and cultural preferences.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen, meeting all food safety regulations.
• Manage kitchen inventory, ordering supplies and ensuring minimal waste.
• Collaborate with educators to align menus with learning themes and special events.
• Promote healthy food choices through engaging experiences with children and families.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience as a chef, ideally in a childcare, school, or aged care environment.
• Sound understanding of children’s nutrition and meal planning.
• Current Food Safety Supervisor certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• A team-focused mindset and genuine passion for children’s wellbeing.
