Join Our Team as an Assistant Coordinator – St Thomas More Outside School Hours Care, Sunshine Beach.

Are you a dedicated and qualified educator ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for an Assistant Coordinator to join our supportive team at St Thomas More Outside School Hours Care, located on-site at St Thomas More Catholic Primary School — just five minutes from the beautiful Sunshine Beach!

We care for up to 60 children before and after school in a fun, engaging environment.

This is a permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week, Monday to Friday), with the exciting opportunity for the right candidate to also step into an Educational Leader role.

As Assistant Coordinator, you’ll support the coordinator in daily operations while developing your own leadership skills — a fantastic opportunity to grow within the sector.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Coordinator in the day-to-day operations of the service, including:

• Program planning, delivery, and documentation
• Staff rostering and supervision
• Administration and financial management tasks (e.g. fee collection)
• Assist in the delivery of a high quality, inclusive, educational program
• Provide children with a safe, secure, welcoming, and nurturing environment
• Work collaboratively within an established team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families
• Participate in professional and personal development
• Consent to be the Responsible Person on site in the absence of the coordinator.
• Promote the service within the local community in accordance with the Vision, Mission and Values of Centacare Child Care Services    

Job Requirements:

• Diploma in Children Services/Early Childcare or ACECQA equivalent
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card), First Aid, CPR, Asthma/Anaphylaxis
• Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place framework and National Law/Regulations
• Experience in the education and care of children.
• Effective computer skills including experience with childcare management software (Xplor preferred)
• Effective workplace communication and leadership skills
