About the Role
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and highly organised Receptionist to join our Medical Centre team on a permanent full-time basis.
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and positive experience while supporting the day-to-day operations of the practice. Working closely with our General Practitioners, nursing team, fellow reception staff, and Practice Manager, you'll thrive in a fast-paced environment where excellent customer service, empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and provide a professional, friendly first point of contact
- Manage incoming calls, patient enquiries, and appointment bookings
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality at all times
- Perform general administrative duties, including scanning, emailing, mail processing, and banking
- Coordinate monthly medication chart appointments for aged care residents
- Liaise with clinicians and external providers to support the delivery of quality patient care
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming reception and waiting area
- Support the day-to-day operations of the practice as required
Essential Criteria - Medical or Dental reception experience preferred but not essential
- Must provide a current driver's licence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Best Practice Software preferred, not essential
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Willing to obtain a Working with Children Check
Desirable - Current First Aid Certificate
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Certificate III in Business Administration or Certificate IV in Business
