The Opportunity
Join an exciting, cohesive team of professionals at Goal Group, where we seek to provide innovative and impactful solutions to the Defence sector.
We are providing an opportunity for a highly skilled Commercial Director to drive the commercial strategy for bids and contracted projects, leading and supporting commercial elements of Defence projects, including procurement planning, negotiating and contract formation ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures across all contract development activities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement commercial strategies in line with company goals and objectives to accelerate growth.
• Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners.
• Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness.
• Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for major contracts, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with company policies.
• Team Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the commercial team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on commercial performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives to the executive team.
• Compliance: Ensure all commercial activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience in a Senior Commercial Leadership role within the Defence industry, ideally within acquisition and sustainment capability programs.
• Strong understanding of procurement and commercial strategies, and Defence policies associated.
• Knowledge of ASDEFCON suite
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
