THE OPPORTUNITY: RECLAIM YOUR WORK-LIFE BALANCE
Aspira Talent has been exclusively retained by Brockville General Hospital (BGH) to find dedicated Internists for full-time roles. We know that as a physician, your time is your most valuable asset. That is why we are excited to present an opportunity that offers the high-acuity clinical scope you trained for, without the burnout of the big city.
Located in the stunning Thousand Islands, BGH is a 172-bed regional hub that punches above its weight. With a Level 3 ICU, onsite MRI, and the newly launched Lumeo regional health information system, you will practice sophisticated medicine in a community where your commute is 5 minutes, and the waterfront is your backyard.
This is more than a job—it’s a career pivot toward sustainability, professional satisfaction, and a team that says, "We are right here, with you."
WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY IS EXCEPTIONAL
Experience the "Best of Both Worlds" Practice": Enjoy the resources of a large centre—10-bed Level 3 ICU (ventilator/pressor support) and comprehensive surgical backup—with the collegiality of a community hospital. You aren't just a number here—you are a vital clinical leader.
- Tech-Enabled Workflow: BGH recently launched Lumeo (Oracle Health/Cerner), a fully integrated regional HIS. You will have instant access to patient records from Kingston Health Sciences Centre and across the region. No more faxing. No more chasing charts.
- Lifestyle Arbitrage: Why pay Toronto or Ottawa prices? Housing in Brockville is ~30% lower than nearby cities. Trade your condo for a waterfront estate and your traffic jam for a boat ride.
- Financial Security & Upside: Guaranteed daily stipend of $1,800 for core hours (08:00–17:00), with unlimited potential through 100% Fee-For-Service (FFS) billings for after-hours work, additional HOCC funding, and up to $60,000 in Canada Student Loan Forgiveness.
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
You will join a collegial Department of Internal Medicine that values shared workload and mutual support. The role is designed to protect your time through a smart, hybrid rotation:
- The Admissionist: A dedicated rotation (08:00 – 17:00) managing consults and admissions. This separates intake from rounding, giving you a predictable, structured day.
- The Hospitalist: Manage an acute inpatient caseload (approx. 20–22 patients) with full multidisciplinary support (Nursing, Physio, Discharge Planning).
- The Specialist: Have a passion for Respirology, Cardiology, or Endocrinology? We actively encourage and support you to build a community-based subspecialty clinic to complement your hospital work.

QUALIFICATIONS - Certification: Board Certified in Internal Medicine (FRCPC) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or eligible for recognition).
- Licensure: Eligible for independent registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- Education: Medical Degree (M.D.) or equivalent.
