THE OPPORTUNITY. Brockville General Hospital (BGH) invites you to join a closely-knit, diverse team of physicians providing safe, effective care in our 18-bed Emergency Department. Handling 30,000 annual visits, this is an environment where you will manage a wide range of acuity while supported by double physician coverage during peak hours (12:00 pm to 9:00 pm). You will practice in a modern facility that has recently launched the Lumeo regional health information system (Cerner), connecting you to five other regional partners and creating a single, seamless patient record across Southeastern Ontario.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Provide patient-centred care within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Participate in medical staff meetings and hospital committees to ensure clinical practices align with strategic directions.
- Mentor medical students and residents through our affiliation with the Queen’s University residency program.
- Engage in a culture of continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
- Collaborate with in-house specialists, including General Internal Medicine, ICU, General Surgery, and Psychiatry.
PROFESSIONAL PROFILE (COMPETENCIES). Licensure: Must hold an M.D. or equivalent and be licensed or eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
Skills: Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative practice model with an interdisciplinary team. Experience in high-volume emergency medicine settings is highly valued.
