Emergency Room Physician - Scenic Waterfront Region of Eastern Ontario (Two Positions)

Imagine providing essential emergency care in a supportive hospital environment nestled in a vibrant community in Eastern Ontario. Aspira Talent, in affiliation with a well-regarded Ontario University, seeks dedicated Emergency Room Physicians to join a collaborative team within our Emergency Department, serving a county-wide population of 250,000. Our busy Emergency Department receives approximately 30,000 visits per year for all age groups and variable acuity. Full-time, part-time, and locum opportunities are available.

Your Role: As an Emergency Room Physician appointed through an affiliation with a reputable Ontario university, your primary focus will be on delivering comprehensive clinical emergency services. Coverage is 24/7 with double coverage from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Shifts at our 170-bed facility are 8 hours in length. The Emergency Department Physician Group is highly collaborative, offering strong clinical support and fostering departmental education including continuous learning. As an educational affiliate of a reputable university, we are a proud training site for residency programs in Emergency Medicine.
You will have access to specialized in-house services, including a 10-bed ICU managed by an intensivist, General Internal Medicine (GIM), general surgery, urology, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, anesthesiology, psychiatry, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and palliative care. We are a designated tele-stroke site, featuring an integrated stroke unit for rehabilitation. Diagnostic imaging services include on-site ultrasound, X-ray, CT, and MRI. We utilize a Cerner EMR system. Complex cases are referred to nearby regional centres.

What You Bring:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent medical degree.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
• Certification in Emergency Medicine (CCFP EM Fellowship and/or FRCP EM) and/or emergency medicine experience is an asset.
• US-trained physicians holding American Board Certification in Emergency Medicine may be eligible for CPSO licensure.
