The Opportunity
  
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Corporate M&A Associate (1–5 PQE) to join a leading national law firm’s highly regarded Corporate team based in Manchester. This role is perfect for a driven and commercially minded lawyer looking to work on complex, high-value corporate transactions across a broad range of sectors, with access to a fantastic client base and strong career progression opportunities.
  

The Role 
  
You’ll be part of a nationally recognised Corporate team that advises on:

• UK and cross-border M&A transactions
• Private equity investments and exits
• Joint ventures, shareholder agreements and corporate reorganisations
• Strategic advisory work for high-growth and mid-market businesses
• Acting for corporates, entrepreneurs, founders, funds and management teams across sectors including healthcare, technology, education, sport, life sciences, and real estate

You’ll work closely with senior lawyers and partners on every stage of the deal cycle and will be given early exposure to clients, excellent training and support, and real scope to develop your commercial and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Acting on M&A deals, investments, and corporate reorganisations
• Drafting and negotiating transaction documents including SPAs, APAs, shareholders’ agreements, and articles
• Leading on due diligence processes and preparing reports
• Advising on corporate governance and general company law issues
• Managing client relationships and taking an active role in business development
• Collaborating with colleagues across the firm, including tax, commercial, banking and employment teams

About You

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales, with 1–5 years' post-qualified experience in corporate law
• Solid experience advising on private M&A, joint ventures and/or private equity transactions
• Strong academic background and excellent drafting and analytical skills
• Commercially astute with a proactive, solution-focused approach
• Able to build strong internal and external relationships
• A team player who is ambitious, collaborative and highly motivated
