Real Estate Finance Associate (Affordable Housing) – 4-7 post-JD
Location: New York
A highly ranked Am Law 200 firm with a strong Real Estate + Development Practice Group is seeking an experienced and motivated associate to join its Affordable Housing and Finance team. The firm provides comprehensive legal services on a national scale, representing lenders, buyers, sellers, and owners in commercial real estate transactions. Clients include national banks, mortgage lenders, developers, and investors in a variety of asset classes.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in commercial real estate finance transactions, including affordable housing projects.
- Conduct title and survey reviews, real estate due diligence, and zoning analysis.
- Draft and negotiate loan documents and transaction-related agreements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless transaction execution.
- Advise clients on regulatory and compliance matters related to real estate finance.
Qualifications & Experience: - 4-7+ years of experience in commercial real estate finance transactions.
- Strong fundamentals in title and survey review, loan document drafting, and real estate due diligence.
- Experience with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac affordable housing transactions is a plus.
- Exceptional writing, research, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Admission to the bar in the candidate’s primary office location is required.
Compensation & Benefits: $220,500 to $330,000, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
