Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contentious Wills, Trusts, and Probate Solicitor to join our growing team. Working closely under the leadership of a highly rated Legao500 ranked Partner, the successful candidate will handle a wide range of high-value and complex disputes concerning wills, trusts, and estates. The firm are looking to fill 2 positions, a Junior at NQ - 3 PQE and a Senior solicitor at 6+ PQE.
Key Responsibilities - Managing a caseload of contentious probate matters, including disputes involving wills, estates, trusts, and claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
- Advising clients on potential claims and legal strategies to resolve disputes.
- Handling litigation proceedings in the High Court and Court of Protection.
- Engaging in alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation and negotiation.
- Drafting legal documents, pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence.
- Providing expert legal guidance to executors, trustees, beneficiaries, and other interested parties.
- Working collaboratively with other departments within the firm, particularly the Private Client team.
- Assisting in business development initiatives and contributing to marketing efforts to promote the firm’s services.
Key Requirements - A qualified Solicitor (ideally NQ - 6+PQE) with experience in contentious wills, trusts, and probate matters.
- Strong knowledge of the Inheritance Act 1975, the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA), and the Administration of Estates Act 1925.
- Experience in dealing with Court of Protection matters and estate administration disputes.
- Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and client-care skills.
- A proactive approach to case management and the ability to work independently.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in business development and networking is advantageous.
