Renowned for delivering exceptional client service and achieving results in high-value, complex insurance claims, the firm are seeking a talented Insurance Litigation Associate to join the growing and dynamic team in the London office.
Role Overview:
The Insurance Litigation Associate will be responsible for handling a range of insurance and reinsurance disputes, acting on behalf of policyholders across various industries. You will work on complex and often multi-jurisdictional matters, advising clients on coverage disputes, claims recovery, and policy interpretation.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage a caseload of insurance and reinsurance disputes, acting for policyholders, with minimal supervision.
- Advise clients on coverage disputes, policy wordings, and claims strategies.
- Draft pleadings, witness statements, correspondence, and reports with a focus on clear and precise communication.
- Conduct and manage litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution processes, including settlement negotiations.
- Work collaboratively with partners and senior lawyers on large, high-value matters involving complex coverage issues.
- Liaise with experts, counsel, and other stakeholders as required.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring the delivery of commercially focused, client-centric advice.
- Support the development of junior associates and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Candidate Requirements: - Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with 3-6 years’ PQE.
- Demonstrable experience in insurance and/or reinsurance litigation, with a preference for candidates experienced in policyholder representation.
- Strong understanding of insurance policy wordings, coverage disputes, and claims recovery processes.
- Experience in litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills with attention to detail.
- A strong commercial awareness and ability to provide practical, client-focused advice.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload effectively and work autonomously as well as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
