About this Opportunity We are looking for a Technical Superintendent to join our Tech & Operations division.
Reporting to Senior Fleet Technical Manager, you will support the Cyan vessel fleet (AU and International fleet) to maintain highest possible uptime, technical compliance, and fleet reliability. You will act as a key liaison between shore management, vessel crew, classification societies, and external stakeholders to always ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance. You will also serve as technical adviser for dockings and vessel modifications, and major equipment maintenance (planned and breakdown).
This is a full-time position based in our Malaysia office.
Key Responsibilities - Ensure compliance with, safety systems, practices, behaviours and develop a proactive safety culture.
- Encourage full implementation of HSE systems with contractors.
- Encourage HSE targets and required behaviours are understood by all mobilized to the project.
- Personally exhibit an uncompromising stand on safety risks.
- Fully understand the strategic HSE goals.
- Understanding the impact of safety symbols and own behaviour and proactively shaping both
- Planning and implementation of projects on behalf of General Managers and Vessel Managers as required
- Oversee the implementation and daily upkeep of the PMS system for the fleet of vessels.
- Assist with fleet optimisation programmes as required and identify opportunities for cost efficiency without compromising safety or performance.
- Participate in investigations of technical incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective/preventative measures.
- Develop detailed project plans outlining scope, timelines, budgets, and resources required.
- Set project goals and monitor progress throughout the project.
- Coordinate with marine crews, subcontractors, and other departments to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including contracts, drawings, change orders, variations and reports.
Qualifications and Experience - At least Second Engineer (STCW III/2) Licence or degree / diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Marine.
- Minimum 5 years of offshore vessel experience.
- Possess working experience with Planned Maintenance Systems
- Good knowledge of MS Office program.
- Understanding of Dynamic Positioning systems – principles & operation.
- Understanding of Classification and Statutory Rules.
- Drydocking & Major repairs.
