We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager at our Cairns Central Property, to join our team on a full-time basis. With a team of around 15 staff including bar, cafe, a pool, kitchens and multiple chill spaces.

The Role:

As Assistant Manager you will join and lead a passionate team of service ambassadors to support the day-to-day operations of the properties. Reporting to the Property Manager, you will benefit from a corporate support office and a dedicated, approachable leadership team.

This is a hands-on role where you will support Shift Managers, Housekeeping, overnight staff and Maintenance members to provide a safe, fun experience for our team and guests alike. As a leader, you will utilise your previous experience to guide, mentor and develop the team to empower them and foster their own career development. Responsibilities Include:

• Responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and supervision of teams working across all departments
• Maintaining complete knowledge of all software operating systems
• Committing to ensuring SOP’s are adhered to and safety is paramount for all staff and guests
• Comprehensive understanding of rostering and cost controls across the business
• Inspiring a work culture of care, encouraging genuine connections with guests and teammates
• Handling guest queries and complaints with professionalism and a hospitable manner
• Develop and implement appropriate and innovative initiatives and revenue opportunities
• Proactively create and trial new guest initiatives and activities

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Demonstrated experience as an Assistant / Duty Manager in a high-volume operation
• Experience working with Mews PMS preferred but not essential
• A warm and caring attitude with a can-do approach
• An interest in problem solving skills and innovative approach to operations
• Community connections or the desire to develop these
• Availability to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
• Unrestricted, valid Australian working rights
• A current QLD RSA and First Aid Qualification is desirable
