New Pub opening soon, focus on creating great food and beverage experience for local people using local produce.
With a rich history dating back to 1814, the heritage building on the corner of Argyle and Macquarie has been a cornerstone of the Hobart community for generations. Its role has continually adapted to meet the needs and expectations of the local community, including its evolution from the city's first post office into a beloved pub in 1851. Throughout this rich history, it has remained an integral part of the community's fabric – the place to meet and, more recently, to dine.
As we embark on this new chapter, our commitment is to respect the heritage of this pub and uphold its legacy as a welcoming gathering place for all. Our ethos centres around a thoughtfully curated food and beverage offering that caters to both traditional and diverse tastes at affordable prices. Our menu and bar will feature local produce sourced through ongoing collaborations with supply partners, allowing us to bring you the best in contemporary modern Australian pub fare.
