YHA Melbourne Central is an affordable accommodation provider based in Melbourne CBD. The property consists of 75 rooms with 244 beds offering both shared and private spaces to a diverse range of guests. It is a stone's throw away from premier attractions like the Eureka Skydeck, Melbourne Aquarium, and Federation Square, not to mention the graffiti-adorned laneways teeming with bustling cafes, bars, and eateries.

About the role:
YHA is on the lookout for a full-time Shift Manager to become part of the team at Melbourne Central. The role entails managing the property's daily operations, supervising team members, and providing primary support. As an integral member of the team, you will help manage and operate YHA, gaining valuable experience and growth opportunities within a team of skilled and enjoyable colleagues.

What you'll get to do:

Ensuring accuracy of transactions in all YHA systems including Mews (reservations), Office systems and eftpos
Promoting a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at the property and ensuring that the property is representing the philosophy of YHA in its operation
Supervising team members on shift and working with them to ensure SOP's are adhered to and constantly reviewed for improvement
Communicating and liaising with team members across all departments to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the property
Performing other relevant duties assigned by the Property Manager or Assistant Manager

What are we looking for:

A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar environment as duty manager, team leader, supervisor or alike
Confident communications both verbally and written
Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol
First Aid & CPR Certification are ideal
Flexible availability 24/7 roster - including overnight shifts
Experience with stock, cash handling and operating procedures
Dedication to supporting your through ongoing team mentoring, training and development
Valid unlimited Australian working rights
