Halls Gap - Grampians Eco YHA is a stylish and comfortable eco-certified property that has been architecturally designed with the environment in mind. Situated in Halls Gap on the outskirts of the stunning Grampians National Park, this property is the ideal base for travellers seeking an outdoor adventure or relaxing getaway.  The award-winning 64-bed property regularly receives excellent guest reviews and contains all the features and more that guests need for an amazing stay.  The property contains a mix of private and co-living rooms and facilities including two self-catering kitchens, two guest lounges with cosy wood fire heaters, free Wi-Fi all throughout the property, an herb garden, BBQ, beautiful outdoor spaces, and on-site car and coach parking.
  
  
About the position:
As the Manager, you are the driving force of the business. Responsible for all aspects of your hostel, you are empowered to act as a YHA Ambassador to guide the business and your team to thrive. The Property Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation and actively collaborating with all support functions at YHA. This ensures that you feel part of the local community but also allows you be a part of an innovative, evolving business and enjoy the professional support of a nation-wide network of properties and a corporate support office. You are also responsible for developing a team that are sustainable and with a focus of building capability.

This is a live-in position. The Managers accommodation includes a self-contained 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen, own bathroom, patio and additional study. 
  
  
Some of the things you’ll get to do:  

• Oversee the entire property operation and commercial interests
• Promote a positive environment through participative leadership and develop
• Manage and continuously develop the property business plan in line with the overall YHA strategic plan
• Overall administration and financial management of the property including management reporting and rostering
• Provide supportive leadership, management, training, motivation and development to your team of approx. three staff
• Oversee the building and facilities management function and manage contractor relationships
• Ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements and ensuring the safety of your guests and team are paramount (this includes food safety)

  
What you’ll need to be successful:  

• Experience in a hospitality or business leadership position with strong leadership and customer service focus 
• Hands on approach to operation and enjoy the challenge of working independently
• Passion for nature, sustainability, and environmental conservation. 
• Resourcefulness in remote settings. 
• Current Remote First Aid & CPR certifications will be required for the successful candidate which can be completed and funded by YHA at commencement 
• Willingness to complete Fire Warden and other safety training
