About the Company:
Our client is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of large custom electromechanical equipment used in the construction industry. With a team of 30 engineers in Toronto, they are expanding and seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their growing group.

Role Overview:
This is a hands-on design and engineering role ideal for a well-rounded electrical engineer with experience in control systems and custom machinery. The successful candidate will lead electrical designs from concept to production, including schematics, component selection, panel layouts, and PLC programming. They must also be willing to travel (up to 25%) and assist on-site with installations and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design electrical systems and schematics based on customer specs
• Develop PLC/HMI control architectures (Schneider, Allen Bradley)
• Lead R&D on new tech and automation systems
• Create and review documentation: BOMs, loop diagrams, wiring layouts
• Collaborate with project managers and support sales/estimations
• Review and approve production/shop drawings
• Support manufacturing and field installations
• Mentor junior staff and interns
• Ensure designs comply with CSA, ANSI, and other North American codes

• 10+ years in electrical engineering, including 5+ years in North America
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, PLC programming, and electrical calculations
• Knowledge of North American electrical codes (CSA, ANSI)
• Strong communication and team skills
• Experience with embedded systems (C/C++, Python, Arduino) a plus
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to the US
