Position: Business Systems Analyst

Location: Hybrid – Toronto, ON (Onsite Wednesdays & every 3rd Friday of the month)

Employment Type: Contract (3-6 months) with potential for Full-Time conversion

Compensation:

• Contract: $65-75/hour 
• Full-Time Salary (upon conversion): $90-95K

OpenTrust Consulting is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to play a key role in shaping digital transformation initiatives within the financial sector. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions while contributing to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define requirements for digital banking and financial technology projects.
• Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and system functionalities to drive efficiency and innovation.
• Work closely with development teams to implement API integrations (REST) and ensure seamless system communication.
• Utilize JIRA and Confluence to track project progress, document requirements, and manage tasks in hybrid Waterfall/Agile environments.
• Provide clear, strategic insights to business partners by translating technical concepts into actionable recommendations.
• Challenge existing processes and offer improvements to optimize system functionality and user experience.

Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in the financial sector (experience with major Canadian banks or financial institutions preferred).
• Strong background in digital, online, or mobile banking projects.
• Experience with AI-driven initiatives is a plus.
• Proficiency in working with APIs (REST), JIRA, and Confluence.
• Technical acumen with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to business stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is an asset.
• Highly analytical mindset with the confidence to ask critical questions and challenge the status quo.
• Experience navigating hybrid Waterfall/Agile project environments.
