Position: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Waterloo Office (Hybrid: 2 days/week in-office)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation Range: $103,000–$105,000 base salary 

Vacation: 3 Weeks, Benefits start from Day 1

Hours: 37.5 hours per week


About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team. In this leadership role, you will oversee the design, development, and troubleshooting of high-performance software solutions while managing a team of application engineers and software engineers. You will be instrumental in driving technical direction and ensuring that all software applications are secure, reliable, and scalable. Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Design & Modelling: Lead the design and architecture of scalable software solutions, creating high-level models and ensuring alignment with business needs and security best practices.
• Technical Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of 3 Application Engineers and 2 Software Engineers, promoting best practices and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Software Development: Build and maintain both front-end and back-end components for web applications, with a focus on .NET technologies and ensuring seamless integration across systems.
• CI/CD Implementation: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline development processes, enhance software quality, and reduce cycle times.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure secure coding practices are followed to minimize vulnerabilities, particularly related to authentication, authorization, and access control.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of software solutions across the organization.
• Production Support: Provide ongoing production support and troubleshooting, addressing issues as they arise to ensure smooth application performance.
• Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and integrate them into the development lifecycle as appropriate.

• 4-6 years of experience as a full-stack developer/engineer, with hands-on expertise in .NET/.NET Core/ASP.NET/MVC for backend development and JavaScript for front-end development.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience developing web-based applications and API services, with a strong understanding of microservices and distributed system architectures.
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization (AAA) principles, including the use of OpenID Connect, SAML, and OAuth.
• Knowledge of MS SQL and experience with SSIS and SSRS development.
• Experience in architectural design and modelling, with the ability to create high-level solution designs and communicate them clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of cloud-native development practices and familiarity with private or public cloud providers (e.g., Azure).
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Vue.js or AngularJS is a plus.
• Experience with Docker, RabbitMQ, and testing frameworks such as Cypress, jMeter, xUnit, and Postman.
• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
