Position: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Waterloo Office (Hybrid: 2 days/week in-office)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation Range: $103,000–$105,000 base salary 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week


About the Role: We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting software programs and applications throughout their lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and develop software programs and applications, ensuring that all requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead architectural design and software development activities, focusing on scalability, security, and reliability.
• Utilize modern software engineering practices such as CI/CD and automated testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
• Contribute to the development of web-based applications and API services, with a focus on security and performance.
• Work on distributed systems and microservices architectures, incorporating the latest cloud-native development practices.
• Ensure adherence to security best practices, particularly in areas such as authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Provide production support and participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for issues as they arise, including off-hours support when required.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment of solutions.

• 6-9 years of relevant experience in software engineering, with a proven track record in delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions.
• 4+ years of experience with Vue.js in front-end development.
• 4-6 years of experience with .NET/.NET Core/ASP.NET/MVC for backend development.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD concepts and automated software engineering practices aimed at improving product quality and streamlining the development lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of microservices and distributed system architectures.
• Experience with authentication, authorization, and access control (AAA) principles, and technologies such as OpenID Connect, SAML, and OAuth.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development and design patterns using public or private cloud providers.
• Strong skills in MS SQL Server, Message Brokers (RabbitMQ), and Docker.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as jMeter, xUnit, and Postman.
• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
